Royal Visit 2010

The Brownsword Hall 10th Anniversary Celebration

The 10th birthday of the Brownsword Hall was celebrated at a party on Tuesday 16th November 2010.
Principal guests, HRH The Prince of Wales and Andrew Brownsword, joined the original architect, builders and many regular users and volunteers who have made the Hall such a great success since it opened in 2000.
The guests enjoyed afternoon tea and a Champagne toast proposed by Honorary President Bev Stephens. The Prince then cut the birthday cake.

The Trustees presented the Prince of Wales and Andrew Brownsword with specially commissioned paintings of the Hall to show the appreciation of the whole community for the gift of a stunning building.

Making the presentation, Chairman Tony Schrier said, "We hope both your Royal Highness and Mr Andrew Brownsword can see what extensive use is made of the Hall." He also pointed out to the Prince (on the day Prince William announced his engagement) that the Hall is ideal for wedding receptions!
